Storytelling in the Liberties 

Storytelling is an art form in the Liberties.In the past it was mainly an aural tradition, but in 2003 ten primary and three post-primary schools have used digital technology to tell stories about themselves, real and imaginary, for broadcast, this web-site and DVD titles.

Five story productions were devised for the project: ‘Children in the Liberties’, ‘Stories in the Liberties’, ‘Fiction in the Liberties’, ‘Our Stories’ and ‘Filming Fiction in the Liberties’. The result is a staggering four hundred and fifty stories to-date.

The primary school students stories are mainly told through text, sound recordings, photographs, illustrations and performances. The post-primary school student's stories are told through video production. All of the student's stories are available on this web-site for your enjoyment.

Storytelling in the Liberties was supported by the National Centre for Technology in Education.
