What is it?

Dolphin’s Barn Historical and Heritage Society (DBHS) and Liberties Association Heritage Groups (LAHG) worked closely together to develop a project that included adults and young people using digital technology to tell the stories of their local heritage. This project has equipped adults and youths with the necessary skills to interpret the history of their local area. The collaborative element has generated a sustaining community-centred process of education and exchange. The traditional practice of passing on the values and heritage of the past has taken a contemporary turn through the use of new technologies and digital media of the present age.

  Did you enjoy it?

"I wasn't very confident a couple of years ago before I started this, a stay at home mum, two boys and now I'm doing a business course in college. So, it's completely changed my life, The Heritage Project, its changed my life that I am actually going for a career now...you never know what you are going to get out of something until you try." - Claire Mullin

"they're curious about technology, they know the phraseology's to use, they're confident enough to even speak with their grandchildren, which is so rewarding...it was like people with maybe slightly low self-esteem have now got confidence and are conscience that they can now actually go and do a project like this and enjoy themselves in the process, which is so important." - Cathy Scuffil
